Daughter of Kemet

She wears the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt as though she was born in it — and she was. The gold and black khat headdress frames a face of absolute knowing: eyes cast upward, lips barely parted, an ankh resting at her throat like a heartbeat made visible. Behind her, carved into the warm sandstone of memory, hieroglyphs continue their silent conversation — the original internet, transmitting everything that mattered across five thousand years.

At her left, the Sphinx watches. Not guarding the pyramids — guarding her. The great structure has always known what the colonisers never did: that she built it. In her right hand she holds a glass orb in which the sun is setting, the pyramids at Giza silhouetted against a sky of amber, crimson and rust. She does not look at the sunset. She already knows how it ends. She has watched a thousand of them.

This is a painting about reclamation — of history, of beauty, of the sacred feminine that was erased from the Egyptian record and is now, slowly, loudly, coming back.
